Yesterday I Learned

1. Speakers can act as mics.

Ref: Speaker as a Microphone - Why can a speaker work as a microphone?
I forgot where I learned about it.

Similar to how motors when spinned produce electricity, the diaphram of the speaker can also be vibrated to produce a varying signal that resembles the input sound. That makes sense.

2. Moden WI-FI routers use the property of wave to have constructive and destructive interference with each other to direct the radio signal toward the device.

Instead of pointing the router/antenna toward the device, it changes the phase of an array of signal/wave being transmitted to constructively interfere toward the zone of the device, and destructively interfere on other regions. I ahd almost forgotten that there are more than one ways to imporve things...

3. There exists cells extracted from a human that hasn't died since 1951.

There is an immortalized cell line used in scientific research called HeLa. These cells are durable and prolific, allowing for extensive applications in scientific study and medical research. It is derived from cervical cancer cells taken on February 8, 1951, from Henrietta Lacks, a 31-year-old African-American woman, after whom the line is named. Lacks died of cancer on October 4, 1951. Actually, it should be living since - before 1951, because the cells were extracted on 1951, they must have grown before that.

4. Hypnotism is Real

Michael David Stevens Vsauce said he believes in it, so I was intreagued, before that video I didn't I would even refuse to believe that it was real. I used to compare it to magic more than science, but it seems I was wrong.
